Pleased to be a part of the first ever Alumni show at Red Tree Gallery on Pender Island, an artisan cooperative gallery I founded with other Pender artists in 2005. Such a beautiful gallery full of fabulous art on the gorgeous waterfront at Hope Bay. The show runs all month. I'm so pleased to have had my piece "Caribou Roaming" accepted into the Contemporary Felt Art show, a juried exhibition of the finest contemporary felt work being created by Canadian fibre artists, at Felt::Feutre Canada's Felt Symposium. The theme for the show is Migration.

Please join Nancy Silo - ceramist, Sandy Shreve - photographic art, and me, Monica Bennett - felt artist, for our opening reception at Pender's beautiful winery for a show of pottery, photography and felt, along with some delicious wine and nibbles, on Friday, August 5th, 4-8pm. A show feature will be a 9 piece display of each artist's responses to works by the other two artists. Show hours are 11am-4pm, Saturday and Sunday, August 6th and 7th.

I am thrilled to have had my hand felted, custom room screen "Arbutus" selected to be included in the latest international publication by Ellen Bakker of Textiellink in the Netherlands.
Ellen says "The book ‘Worldwide colours of felt’ surprisingly bundles together unique and beautiful works of felt from over 40 countries to form a feast of colour and inspiration. Over 500 artists from across the world add colour to this remarkable project. Felt objects, clothing, figures, jewels and utensils are displayed in cheerful red, cool blue, serene white, mysterious purple . . . In ten chapters, every colour will fully manifest itself. "Art Off The Fence"
This year I am honoured to have been asked to participate as a guest artist in the 19th annual "Art Off The Fence" - a prestigeous, outdoor art event on South Pender Island.
The show will be on July 18th and 19th, 2015, from 10am - 4pm at 8964 Gowlland Point Road, South Pender Island, a beautiful property with an expansive outdoor area in which the show is held.

"Perspectives" An Art Show
Please join Crystal Desharnais, Sandy Shreve and me for "Perspectives - An Art Show" in the gallery at Pender Island's winery, Sea Star Estate Farm and Vineyards. The show will feature my felt work, Crystal's paintings and Sandy's photographic art, along with a feature presentation, in which we interpret one piece of each other's work in our own medium.

"A Sense of Place - Felt and Foto"
On Thanksgiving weekend, Monica and Hans Tammemagi will be have a joint show of their work at SeaStar Estate Farm and Vineyards on Pender Island, B.C. Working with the theme of A Sense of Place, Monica will be using sheep and alpaca fibres from local Pender farms, including the Winery's own Baby Doll sheep, in her sculptural pieces and felt art. Hans Tammemagi, travel writer and photographer, will have a selection of his photography from around Pender and his world travels.
Opening night reception - Friday, October 10th from 4pm - 8pm. Show runs from October 11th to 13th, 11am to 4pm each day.

I'm pleased to have the felt piece "Is It Pottery?" accepted into the juried Sooke Fine Arts show on my first time entering the event! "Small Expressions" show
A show for small pieces, all to fit within a 12" x 12" x 12" space. The Community Arts Council of Saanich Peninsula has this March show each year for its members at its gallery in Tulista Park, Sidney, B.C.
